At Midnight I Will Take Your Soul (1964)

Zé do Caixao (Coffin Joe) is a gravedigger in a small Brazilian town searching for the perfect woman to bear him a perfect child. Zé will do anything to find the perfect woman, and won't allow anyone to stand in his way. He kills his wife, who is unable to conceive a child, and sets out to find someone else who can handle the job. He must produce a child to continue his bloodline, and thus, grant him his only chance at immortality.

This Night I Will Possess Your Corpse (1967)

Zé do Caixao (Coffin Joe) returns to continue his quest for the perfect bride. Aided by a hunchback assistant he embarks on an even more brutal campaign of terror. For his sins Zé is dragged head first into the underworld. As imagined by José Mojica Marins, it's as unique a vision of hell as you'll ever see!

End Of Man (1964)

A Completely naked man emerges from the sea and walks the streets of the city. Assuming the name Finis Hominis ("The End of The Man" in Latin), he becomes a modern messiah, capable of performing miracles. An adulterous woman and a betrayed husband, both saved by Finis, help to grow his followers which also includes a group of hippies.

Strange Hostel Of Naked Pleasures (1967)

During a stormy night a group of hippies, an adulterous couple, a gigolo and some corrupt buisnessmen srrive at a strange, isolated guest house in search of shelter and are welcomed by it's mysterious proprietor. The following morning they awake to discover the true identity of their host - Death!

Hellish Flesh (1977)

Dr. George Medeiros is a brilliant Scientist who does not find time for beautiful wife Rachel. She falls in love with Oliver, the best friend of her husband, and soon after the two plan to kill George and inherit his fortune. Benefiting from the distraction of her husband in the laboratory, Rachel throws acid in George's face, disfiguring it. As he recovers in the hospital, Rachel and Oliver spend all his money. After months in the hospital, Dr. George comes home with a plan for revenge in his mind.

Hallucinations Of A Deranged Mind (1978)

A psychiatric doctor is driven insane plagued by nightmarish visions of Zé do Caixao's (Coffin Joe) subterranean world of bizarre horror. Under analysis it is discovered that he has a pathological fear that Zé has sexual designs on his beautiful wife and this is causing his horrific and diabolical dreams.

The Strange World Of Coffin Joe (1968)

Coffin Joe introduces three stories of horror:

The Dollmaker - When four tough guys set out to rob a dollmaker, they are sidetracked by his beautiful daughters. While assaulting the women, they discover how the dollmaker gets such life-like eyes in his dolls.

Tara - A poor ballon seller falls in love with a beautiful woman who buys his ballons. When she dies in a tragic accident, her death does not inhibit his attempt for physical intimacy with her.

Ideology - An eccentric professor kidnaps a rival and his wife and subjects them to a series of sadistic ordeals and shocking rituals, in an attempt to prove that instinct triumphs over reason and emotions.

Awakening Of The Beast (1970)

Brazillian director José Mojica Marins examnies the drug culture of the 1960's in this brutally surreal exploitation flick, which the Brazilian government banned for more than 20 years. What seems to start out as a documentary - with Marins talking to doctors who've treated addicts - quickly turns fantastical as the physicians get four human guinea pigs to take LSD... and they all share the same horrifying hallucination.

The Strange World Of José Mojica Marins (2001)

This documentary, which had it's premiere at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival (Special Jury Price, 2001), explores the life of brazilian cult horror director José Mojica Marins, who has been dubbed a cross between Russ Meyer and Luis Bunuel. Combining footage from his films and extensive interviews with the director, his associates and family members, the film raises complex questions about the nature of acting and artifice and the difference between cinema and reality.
