A "triumph of imagination and production design" (Maltins), Terry Gilliam's Brazil is a dazzlingly different look at the horror of things to come. Jonathan Pryce stars as unambitious civel servant Sam Lowry, who see himself as a winged superhero soaring through the clouds to Xavier's Cugat's 'Brazil', but who is crushed by the state and a system he had never dreamt of questioning. A brilliant support cast includes Robert De Niro as another would-be superhero to rival Lowry plus Ian Holm, Bob Hoskins, Michael Palin and Ian Richardson.
